Product Description
Restylane® Day Cream 50ml
Protect and vitalize your skin
Restylane® Day Cream is a moisturiser suitable for all skin types. The DMS lipid structure in Restylane Day Cream means it has a high biocompatibility with your own skin, which helps build up the skin’s natural protective barrier to reduce water loss and withstand premature ageing.
Restylane® Day Cream contains active ingredients that improve the skin’s own detoxifying ability, resulting in soft and healthy skin. The addition of stabilized hyaluronic acid enhances the long lasting moisturising effect of the cream.
Restylane® Day Cream is for daily use and is formulated to withstand normal extrinsic or intrinsic ageing. It also supports the healing process and can be used after aesthetic procedures, including Restylane treatments.

Stabilized hyaluronic acid, DMS, Niacinamide, Creatine, Acetyl Carnitine, Piperine and Ceramide-3.
Formulation
Key ingredients:
- Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid produced by using the patented NASHA™ technology for improved hydration and TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss)
- Theraputic doses of
- Acetyl Carnitine
- Niacinamide
- Coenzyme Q10
- Creatine: a powerful anti-oxidant complex stimulating the energy metabolism
- Piperine: increases the absorption of active ingredients
- Ceramide 3: forms part of the stratum corneum that makes up a thin water-retaining barrier
Technology:
- DMS (Derma Membrane Structure) provides a cream base very similar to the structure of the skin barrier with a chemical composition related to the natural components of the skin.
Mechanism of action
- Mitochondria are central components of our cells generating the majority of the energy molecule ATP from nutrient molecules using oxygen
- Three key components of aerobic respiration are 1) glycolysis, 2) the Kreb’s cycle and 3) the electron support chain
- Energy in the skin is necessary for regeneration and repair of skin cell damage due to oxidative stress caused by UV radiation, pollution, emotional stress etc.
- When the energy mechanism is malfunctioning, the skin cannot produce perfect cells. Cells will be mutated and become defective resulting in premature ageing and unhealthy skin
- The anti-oxidative complex of Restylane® Day Cream are essential substances for the energy processes in the mitochondria, increasing the cell energy and acting as anti-oxidants in the cells
- The complex of acetylcarnitine, niacinamide, coenzyme Q10 and creatine boosts skin repair and regeneration and reduces free radical damage.
- Niacinamide (vitamin B3) has additional anti-inflammatory effects. It works as a skin whitener and reduces rosacea
FAQ
What are Active Substances / Active Ingredients?
Active substances in cosmetic formulations provide additional benefits, such as an anti-wrinkling or soothing effect on the skin. However, for optimal results it is essential that the active substances are stabilized and that the dosage is high enough. A few examples include:
- Vitamin A / Retinol: One of very few active ingredients that has been scientifically proven to reduce wrinkles. An effective dosage will often show in slight redness and flaking skin in the beginning of the treatment, a sign of improved skin regeneration.
- Ceramides, Lipids (fatty substances): Found in the skin. Energising nutrients: Niacinamide, creatine and acetyl carnitine that improve the skin cell metabolism, making it work as a younger cell.
- Anti-oxidants
What are Anti-oxidants?
Anti-oxidants neutralise free radicals in the skin by preventing the oxidative chain reaction. Anti-oxidants therefore work as 'anti-rust' protection in the skin and body, promoting cell growth and youth whilst preventing cell damage and premature ageing.
What are Free Radicals?
Free radicals are very reactive molecules, such as by-products from cellular metabolism, often increased by smoking, alcohol, radiation and heavy metals, that start a chain of oxidative reactions in the skin and in the body, making cells "rust”. New cells will become mutated or defective, old cells will be harmed or killed. Free radicals add to the skin ageing process.
What are Lipids?
Fat-soluble substances such as fats, oils, waxes, cholesterol, sterols and fat-soluble vitamins (such as vitamins A, D, E and K). Lipids are an essential factor in maintaining healthy, beautiful skin.
What is DMS technology?
This is a very advanced technology where the skincare formula is developed with the skin as the model. By choosing only lipids that are found in the skin (ceramides, squalane, phospholipids etc) and by using advanced technology, the lipids in the cream will self assemble in laminar sheets (ultra thin flakes) that are identical to those found in the human outer skin.
A cosmetic formulation with DMS has an extraordinary long-term effect on skin moisture as it can replace skin lipids, whereas conventional creams can only form a temporary fatty layer on the skin surface.
Creams with DMS can help the skin rebuild its own protective skin barrier. With the use of DMS, the skin will regain its own protection, thereby effiectively preventing premature ageing.
What is Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a water binding substance essential for skin hydration and the production of collagen and elastin which makes the skin smooth and toned. Its natural rate of degradation in the skin is very fast. A unique process of stabilization (NASHA™ technology), used in all Restylane® products, slows down the degradation process significantly. Together with the DMS lamellar structure, the stabilized hyaluronic acid provides the skin with a unique protection, added hydration and skin smoothness.
What is a Skin Barrier?
This is the topmost layer of the skin consisting of flattened skin cells together with layered lipids and water-binding salts. The skin barrier is very protective, preventing harmful substances from entering the body. However, if the skin barrier has been destroyed by detergents, UV-radiation or other irritants, the protective function is lost, leading to premature ageing.
What are Stabilized Active Ingredients?
Active ingredients are often very reactive and easily lose their effect when exposed to light or when mixed together with other ingredients in a cosmetic formulation. Active ingredients are therefore “stabilized” by the use of new technologies, such as embedding them in lipids or by making them “solid” in extremely small particles. This stabilization prevents the active ingredients from breaking down before being applied and absorbed by the skin.
What is a therapeutic / active dose?
This is the amount of an active substance that has been scientifically proven to have an effect. A therapeutic/active dose of a substance in a skin care formula will ensure that the product contains enough of the active substance to make a difference.
