Whether you want to believe it or not, your skin isn’t always going to be able to recover from a busy weekend by Monday morning. More often than not, we too find ourselves drifting into the office with signs of the weekend still etched into our skin.
Whilst tiredness is something that you can’t avoid feeling, there are things you can do to appear more awake.
There are certain makeup tips and tricks that can help you fake that well rested appearance – perfect for getting you through the day.
Conceal With Concealer
Is there anything that concealer can’t help? It’s our number one go to product for days when we’re feeling less than fabulous. A creamy concealer will help combat those frustrating dark circles under your eyes – these are what make your skin look dull and tired. You should apply sparingly under your eyes, around your nose and the corner of your mouth.
Switch Your Black Eyeliner For White or Nude
We all love a smokey eye, especially the signature black eyeliner to complete the look. Unfortunately, this is the last makeup product that you should be using when you’re attempting to hide how tired you are. We say leave the black eyeliner in your makeup bag and choose white or nude eyeliner instead. This will instantly make your eyes look brighter and bigger – perfect for faking that awake vibe!
Choose a Rosy Blush
Brighten your entire face by choosing a pretty pink blusher for your cheekbones. The pop of colour will easily distract attention away from your dark eyes and shadows. We suggest staying away from any blusher that has orange tones – these will actually make your skin appear a lot more tired than you actually are. We find it helps to apply two different shades – a neutral colour and then a brighter pink.
Curl Your Eyelashes
Spending time curling your eyelashes is probably the last thing you want to do when you’re feeling exhausted – but it can really help! You should curl them before and then after applying a generous coat of mascara. Pinch them together near the base of the eyelashes, in the middle and then do it again at the end of the lashes. This will instantly open up your eyes and make them look a lot brighter.
Of course, makeup is only a temporary solution. It’s important that you look after your skin so that you can avoid tiredness leaving any long term effects on your face.
