The Best Kept Beauty Secrets From Around The World (Part 1)

by Posted in Face, Skin .

When it comes to beauty secrets, we’ve all been told various weird and wonderful health tips by our beloved mums and grandmas in order to achieve that beautifully glowing and fresh skin we all dream of. Whether it’s drinking 10 gallons of water a day to revitalise your skin or rubbing raw allsorts on your face for 6+ hours to rid your skin of bacteria, there are definitely much easier ways to achieving gorgeously soft skin.

We have gathered a few beauty regimes from around the globe to give you an insight into how the ladies and gents of different countries achieve their perfect skin, and how you can recreate these at home.

Sweden

Ladies of Sweden attribute their healthy and glowing skin to their diet of antioxidant-packed fresh berries and grilled fish. Tips for trying this regime at home include boiling mineral water with a green tea bag, let the tea infuse the water and then freeze to use the ice cubes instead of a toner. Saunas are also a large part of Swedish Culture as the clean dry heat is said to rid the body of toxins. However, if you don’t have access to a sauna, don’t worry – take a handful of rock salt, add a teaspoon of olive oil and 7-9 drops of pure eucalyptus oil and apply to your body and face, once applied leave for 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Israel

The Dead Sea is a completely natural way of ridding the body of dead skin cells, the salty waters have also been said to have cured skin diseases and conditions. This may all be a myth; however, Israeli people are dedicated to the healing powers of the mysterious Dead Sea. The sea salt helps your body rid itself of toxins and deeply cleanses skin cells.

Greece

Greek women are known for their beautiful Mediterranean skin type, which is light in colour but contains enough melanin to shield skin from harmful UV rays. Other factors that encourage their radiant complexion include a high in fish diet; fish provides omega-6 fatty acids and omega-3, as well as providing their bodies with antioxidants and vitamins from fruit and vegetables. Olive oil is also said to contribute to beautiful skin tones, so why not try incorporating olive oil into your daily diet rather than butter and dairy products?

Egypt

It is rumoured that milk was the beauty secret of the Egyptians. Milk is a great way of enhancing the silky smooth feel of your skin. Add 2-3 small cups of powdered milk to your bath water to make your skin beautifully soft, refreshed and remove any dead skin cells.
