For those who fly quite a lot, you’ll be used to the challenges that it creates when it comes to your beauty routine. Whether it’s the actual flying, lack of sleep or changing climate conditions – travelling can cause problems for your skin care regime.
You might be a seasoned flyer but that doesn’t mean your skin has to suffer the consequences. Before you jet off on your next adventure, consider the following beauty tips and recommendations.
#1 Prepare the Skin
Your skin care preparation can begin before you even reach the airport. In fact, you should be preparing your skin the night before any planned travel. Apply a hydrating mask and leave on your skin overnight.
On the morning of your flight, you should apply a facial moisturiser. You want one that offers you the longest protection – such as Obagi Hydrate, which lasts for up to 8 hours.
Suitable for all skin types, it contains a hypoallergenic formula, as well as natural ingredients such as shea butter, mango butter, and avocado. This stops your pores from clogging up, as well as clearing any dry skin problems.
# 2 Look After Your Eyes
Flying can cause some frustrating problems for your eyes, leaving them dry, itchy and sore. This is because of the low humidity and dry air that you find on flights – causing dry eye symptoms to intensify.
To provide some hydration and relief for your eyes, you should apply some eye cream before you get on the plane and then when you have landed. We suggest Obagi ELASTIderm® Eye Treatment cream – it controls dryness and irritation for even the most sensitive eyes.
#3 Treat Your Dry Hands
The dry air on flights can also cause issues for your hands, which are likely to dry up or crack. Apply a hand cream or moisturiser throughout the flight, to keep them feeling soft and hydrated. (You will have to check with your airline for restrictions to carrying liquids) It will also counteract the harsh soap that you always find in the toilets on flights – they really are as bad as they smell!
We recommend Obagi Nu-Derm Action moisturiser, as it helps to sooth dry and flaky skin – such as the hands! It’s non greasy so it can be used on every skin type.
You can find our full Obagi skin care range online, including the products that we mentioned above.
