C E Ferulic is the serum that established SkinCeuticals' reputation. Built on the patented Duke Antioxidant formula, it combines 15% pure L-ascorbic acid, 1% alpha tocopherol and 0.5% ferulic acid. The three work together: vitamin C is water-soluble and vitamin E is lipid-soluble, so between them they protect different parts of the skin, while ferulic acid stabilises both and strengthens their effect. Applied each morning, it helps neutralise the free radicals generated by UV, pollution and infrared, and SkinCeuticals state that once absorbed it remains active for a minimum of 72 hours. Over four weeks of daily use it also helps brighten the complexion and improve the appearance of fine lines and firmness.

P-TIOX takes a different approach. It is a peptide serum designed to target expression lines, the lines formed by repeated facial movement such as frowning, smiling and squinting. It combines an advanced peptide complex with 5% niacinamide to support the skin barrier, 5% polyhydroxy acid for gentle exfoliation and laminaria extract to hydrate. SkinCeuticals report improved smoothness, refined pores and radiance within one week, with the appearance of expression lines reduced over twelve weeks. It is also formulated to be used alongside injectable treatments, which makes it a useful addition if you have regular appointments.
